My set had a difficult conversation with our client this week.
I opened the conversation. I am fine with confronting difficult subjects with my husband and close friends. But not so much professionally at work or with our client.
I learned that I can do it! I can tactfully and authentically express my concerns.
We did not have a lot of time to plan what we were going to say, and we did come up with good responses to our client’s questions/concerns/statements. I think it went well.
I am going to have a difficult conversation with someone who is higher than me in the org. chart but not my supervisor – yet I still work under him and report to him on some things – next week. It is long overdue and needs to happen. This experience helped boost my confidence in myself to be able to initiate this discussion.
